What products are affected?
There are ten categories of products that are included in this program (both rounds). As a general rule all related products and accessories are included in that category.
1. Oxygen Equipment and Accessories
This category includes all home oxygen therapy devices including: home oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen, portable oxygen concentrators, compressed portable oxygen, and all oxygen cylinder rentals with contents. Also included are the associated supplies, carts, and regulators required to use this equipment.
2. Hospital Beds
This category includes all styles of home care beds including: manual, semi-electric, full electric, and heavy duty beds. It also includes the mattresses and overlays.
3. CPAP, BiPAP & Accessories
This category includes all Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Respiratory Assist Devices (RAD / BiPAP), masks, and accessories.
4. Standard Power Wheelchairs and Scooters
This category includes all standard power wheelchairs, scooters, batteries, accessories, and repair parts.
5. Complex Rehab Power Chairs (Round 1.2 Only)
This category includes all complex powerchairs which use adaptive technology and seat positioning components. This category includes accessories and repair parts.
6. Diabetic Testing Supplies (Nation Wide as of July 1, 2013)
This category includes all diabetic test strips, lancets, control solution, and batteries. This category applies only to mail order deliveries of the supplies. Patients can continue to receive their supplies from and walk in locations such as a pharmacy.
7. Walkers and Accessories
This category includes all types of walkers and their related accessories.
8. Enteral Nutrition
This category includes all items used for tube feeding. Those include: formula, pumps, IV poles, and feeding kits.
9. Support Surfaces
This category includes all pressure reducing surfaces that are used in conjunction with a homecare bed. This includes low air loss therapy and alternating pressure mattresses.
10. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
This category includes the pump, dressings, cannisters, and related supplies.
